5 Places to Take Your Toddlers / Children in Amman, Jordan

As a mother living in Jordan, I have always been looking for places to take my toddler to. I asked around and did my research, and when I found a place that I liked, I made sure to take my child there. Are you living in Amman as well? Are you trying to find a child-friendly place? Do you want to get creative on where to take them? I can help you. They are probably bored at home and possibly get fussy when they go to places that aren’t really family-friendly. So, if you are out of ideas on where to take them, in this post I have listed a few places that I have personally visited, places that we both enjoyed; great emphasis on the word both.

*The majority are suitable for children from age 6 months to 7 years old.

If I find more options after posting this, which I’m sure I will, I will make sure to make updates. The places thus far, are:

Located near the Medical City Circle, Lily Gym is a friendly and healthy environment to take your kids to. It has a play area for kids from 6 months to 6 years of age. It has an indoor play area, birthday party venue for kids, and kids & mom classes. The Gym is equipped with highest standards of safety, and there are supervisors available to ensure smooth and injury free play. Two years and older may play on their own, however, toddlers under 2 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. As an adult, there is a table and chairs next to the play area where you may sit and make your own coffee while watching over your kids playing and enjoying their time.

You can find their location here, and click here for their Facebook page.

* Before going, make sure to call them to see if they are available, and whether or not they are hosting any birthday parties. You can also ask for prices and see what activities they offer on that specific day.

Avenue Park is located in Avenue Mall, Sweifieh. It is basically an amusement park with a variety of games for different age groups. There is also a designated room for birthday parties and a food corner that serves snacks and beverages. This food corner is right next to the toddler section, where you may want to sit and watch, or you can enter the toddler zone and join your children while they play. My favourite thing about this place is that it is never crowded, this way your child could simply enjoy more games, because you will spend more time playing rather than waiting in a line to play a game.

Their location is here and their Facebook page is here.

The Good Book Shop has great books, great coffee, a lovely garden and a friendly environment. There is a separate room for children, including books for them, toys, tables, chairs and bean bags to sit on. Children who love to read will for sure love this place. It is located on Rainbow Street, which gives you a great opportunity to take your kids for a walk before or after visiting the shop.

Wild Jordan Center is also located near Rainbow Street, Jabal Amman. According to their website, within the center, there is a Family Cafe with a seating capacity of up to 50 people and offers a wonderful view of old Amman. It offers a healthy menu, set in outstanding surroundings with a fireplace, for a cozy and warm atmosphere during chilly nights and huge windows that are unlocked during fair weather. A children’s area is designated to engage children in activities that can help develop knowledge of Jordan’s reserves and the environment. A large communal table is ideal for big groups and families. The center is also completely smoke free and has a strong recycling program.

Visit their website for more information, and here is their Facebook page.

*Sometimes it is best to call before you go in case the family cafe is reserved. Phone number: (06) 463 3542

Casereccio is an Italian restaurant that has 2 branches in Amman, one located on Mecca Street and the other one is at Abdali Mall. They provide a children’s section in both restaurants. Children make their own pizza with a chef, there are tables and chairs, as well as toys available for kids to play with. There is also a staff supervisor watching over the children while you may want to enjoy your meal at the time being.

Click here for the location of the Mecca Street branch, and here is the Abdali Mall one.

Check out their menu here, and their Facebook page here as well.

I hope that I have helped you with new places to take your children to in Amman. Stay tuned for more updates!
